Volunteer Information

A MINIMUM OF 10 (TEN) HOURS VOLUNTEER TIME PER FAMILY IS REQUIRED THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

Coaches and staff dedicate hundreds of hours to the organization, so we are asking only a few from you. There are guidelines for each job, some of which last throughout the season. We are very dependent on your help, therefore if you commit to a job, you must carry out that assignment. Should you fail to show up, you will be charged for your missed time and your child will not play in that game. There will be no exceptions. The fee for volunteer hours is $75 per season.

The following are job descriptions for positions that need to be filled for our games (volunteer hour times are a per game approximation)

ANNOUNCER
(Home games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for announcing plays, welcoming opposing team, announcing the score, etc. One or two needed per team.

BOOSTER BOOTH
(2 hours)- Responsible for selling Jr. Nighthawk items at the spirit table.

CHAIN GANG
(Away games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for helping move the markers down the field for each play. 3 (three) needed per team.

EMT
EMT (Practice fields and Home Games) ( 8 hours) - Required to attend all practices and home games. Responsible for all medical attention to participants. This position can be held by 2 to 3 people who may elect to share duties.

GATE
(Home games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for collecting entrance fees at the main gate. Two needed per team.

HOMECOMING COMMITTEE
(Approx. 8 hrs vol time) Responsible for coordinating and planning the Homecoming festivities.

HOMECOMING DANCE
(Night of the dance) (approx. 2hrs vol time) Parents to Chaperone Dance, decorate, setup, and cleanup. Collect tickets at the door, and food servers.

PAR
(Home and away games) (Approx.1-2 hrs. volunteer time) Responsible for verifying all players play at least the minimum number of plays per game as specified by SYFC guidelines. Two needed per team.

PARENT PATROL
(Home and Away Games – approx 1-2 hrs. vol. time) We need a total of 4 parents per team for home games and 2 parents for away games. At home games we need parents to patrol the home and away stands to watch for throwing of trash in the stands and children running and playing in and behind the stands.

SCOREBOARD/TIMER
(Home games only) (Approx. 1.5 - 2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for running the electronic scoreboard during the game. One needed per team.

SET-UP / TAKE DOWN CREW
(Home games only) (Approx 1-2 hrs. vol. time, depending on number of volunteers) Set up crew sets up cones, etc for home games. take down crew, removes items from field, assists with snack bar breakdown and clean up of stadium.

SNACK BAR
(Home Games 4 hours)- Responsible for working in the snack bar durning games, not including your child's game.

WEIGH MASTER
(Home and away games) (Approx. 1hr. volunteer time - 1 needed for entire season) This position requires a certification which willl be obtained prior to the beginning of the season.The weigh master for our team weighs in the players for the opposing team before each game.
